PEARLS OF LOMBOK
Lombok is renowned for its pearls. Salt-water pearls are generally more expensive and of higher quality than freshwater pearls. They have a good luster and the shape is more round. The more perfectly round the pearl, the more expensive it is. Meanwhile, the fresh-water pearls are characterised by their 'imperfect' appearance, having a striated surface and asymmetrical natural shapes.
